Liverpool v Bayern Munich

Round of last 16, first leg

Kick-off: 8pm (GMT) Tuesday 19 February

Where to watch live in the UK: BT Sport 2 / BT Sport 4K UHD

Venue: Anfield, Liverpool

888 Sport enhanced odds - Liverpool v Bayern - CL - Feb 2019

Due to a weekend of the FA Cup in which Liverpool were already out, having lost to Wolves in the 4th round, they will be glad of the 10 day break.  They’ve had a number of players recovering from injuries, so their time away at a training camp in Marbella this week will have helped them focus on their preparations for this game.

Bayern started their league season poorly, but after a good recent run winning 5 of their last 6, find themselves just three points behind leaders Dortmund.  They are also unbeaten in this Champions League run.  They will no doubt be looking to put pressure on Liverpool’s fullbacks with their pacey wide forwards Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman.

Liverpool though are full of confidence and should be too strong at home for the Germans.

Correct score prediction: 2-1 (Bets odds: 33/4 with Sportingbet)

Acca selection: Liverpool win (Get boosted odds of 10/1 with 888 Sport – T&Cs apply)

Lyon v Barcelona

Round of last 16, first leg

Kick-off: 8pm (GMT) Tuesday 19 February

Where to watch live in the UK: BT Sport 3

Venue: Parc Olympique Lyonnais, Lyon

Despite an up and down season in the Ligue 1, Lyon have looked really strong in the Champions League so far.  They were unbeaten in their group and took 4 points against Man City.  They are a tough side to beat at home too, beating league leaders PSG just over a fortnight ago.

Barcelona visit off the back of three laboured draws in their last four games.  It’s clear they aren’t in great form at the moment, so we think Lyon could unsettle their play and take something from this game.

Correct score prediction: 2-1 (Best odds: 14/1 with William Hill)

Acca selection: Lyon win (Best odds: 7/2 with 888 Sport)

Schalke v Man City

Round of last 16, first leg

Kick-off: 8pm (GMT) Wednesday 20 February

Where to watch live in the UK: BT Sport 2

Venue: Veltins-Arena, Gelsenkirchen

888 Sport enhanced odds - Schalke v Man City - CL - Feb2019

Man City continue to look defiant in the Premier League, and are keeping up the pressure on league leaders Liverpool.  Guardiola continues to rotate his starting eleven whilst competing in all 4 domestic and European competitions.

Despite perhaps having one eye on the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea at the weekend, he will no doubt take be looking to play his rested, strongest eleven on Wednesday night.  Sergio Aguero has hit the ground running since returning from injury last month, and we’re expecting him to continue that form into the Champions League.

Schalke came through the weakest group in the last round as runner-up to FC Porto.  They find themselves mid-table in the Bundesliga and will be missing a few key players for City’s visit.

Man City should find this leg comfortable, and will no doubt be looking to wrap up this tie at the first attempt.

Correct score prediction: 0-3 (Best odds: 15/2 with Sportingbet)

Acca selection: Man City win (Get boosted odds of 5/1 with 888 Sport – T&Cs apply)

Bonus bet: Aguero to score anytime (Best odds: 3/4 with BoyleSports)

Atlético Madrid v Juventus

Round of last 16, first leg

Kick-off: 8pm (GMT) Wednesday 20 February

Where to watch live in the UK: BT Sport 3

Venue: Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, Madrid

Atlético face the Italian Champions in a season that has seen them  struggle against the big sides.  Signing Chelsea’s unwanted striker Morata was a clear sign the goals have dried up this season.

Juventus sit comfortably atop Serie A, 13 points ahead of Napoli.  Ronaldo has quickly fitted in well in his debut season with the Italian giants, and they’ve clearly been strengthened with him.

In what is likely to be a tough game for both sides, we think Juventus will probably come out the stronger side on the night. Expect a narrow away win.

Correct score prediction: 0-1 (Best odds: 25/4 with Sportingbet)

Acca selection: Real Madrid win (Best odds: 9/5 with 10Bet)
