Sky Bet EFL Championship predictions

Middlesborough v QPR

Kick-off: 3:00pm (GMT) Saturday 23 February 2019

Venue: Riverside Stadium, Middlesborough

Boro have had a really tough run of things so far in February, considering we’re not even done with the shortest month of the year.  They have had to play 3 of the top 4 in their last 4 games. So having taken 7 points from those fixtures will be seen as more than creditable.

QPR have had a miserable 2019 so far in the league.  They also had to play a tough 90 minutes in the week, made all the more tougher by conceding in the 94th minute, which cost them a point against West Brom.

Six straight league defeats and no wins in 8 speaks volumes, we fancy Boro here.

Result prediction: Middlesborough win (Best odds: 19/25 with Royal Panda)

Correct score prediction: 1-0 (Best odds: 5/1 with Novibet)

Brentford v Hull

Kick-off: 3:00pm (GMT) Saturday 23 February 2019

Venue: Griffin Park, Brentford

Not many teams in the Championship are on a better run of form than Brentford right now, especially when you look at their home form. They have won 6 of their last 7 at home and the only blip was a draw against top of the table Norwich… hardly a blip!

Hull are coming down to earth a bit after what was an extraordinary November/December period for them.  It’s a credit they find themselves mid table seeing they were in the relegation zone in October.  But no wins in their last 4 away games will be a concern, and letting a 2 goal lead slip at home to relegation placed Rotherham in their last game will only add to their woes.

Result prediction: Brentford win (Best odds: 5/6 with Betfred)

Correct score prediction: 3-2 (Best odds: 20/1 with Coral)

Sky Bet EFL League 1 predictions

Blackpool v Oxford

Kick-off: 3:00pm (GMT) Saturday 23 February 2019

Venue: Bloomfield Road, Blackpool

Blackpool is a strange case at the moment.  On the face of it, it’s a club in a real mess with the receivers currently in place and a genuine risk of a large points reduction.

There is another side to this however, firstly on the pitch.  They are actually doing more than okay (although a points deduction won’t do them any favours). They currently sit 8th in table and unbeaten in their last 7 league games, 3 of which were against teams currently in the top 6.

Secondly, the fans. most Blackpool fans will happily take starting from scratch, even in League 2, over the Oyston ownership of the club, and you might see a lot more fans in Bloomfield Road than usual for this game.

Oxford on the other hand find themselves not only in the relegation zone but on a run of just 1 win in their last 15 competitive games.

Result prediction: Blackpool win (Best odds: 8/5 with Ladbrokes)

Correct score prediction: 2-0 (Best odds: 16/1 with Novibet)

Sky Bet EFL League 2 predictions

MK Dons v Newport

Kick-off: 3:00pm (GMT) Saturday 23 February 2019

Venue: Stadium MK, Milton Keynes

After a horrible January, MK dons have returned to form with back to back league wins which has seen them rise to 4th in the league. Although in truth, this tip is based on Newport and the amount of football they have played in the last week. They have played over 180 minutes more than MK Dons, including 90 minutes in the week.

Throw into the mix the fixture against Man City which would have had to have taken something out of the players and the fact that these 2 have already played each other in the league this month which MK Dons won away.

All roads lead to a home 3 points here.

Result prediction: MK Dons win (Best odds: 17/20 with Betfred)

Correct score prediction: 3-0 (Best odds: 14/1 with Sportingbet)
