Newcastle to win 1-0: Bwin 25/4

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock felt hard done by after last weekends result somewhat flattered Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth side in what was Cardiff City’s Premier League debut in their return to the top flight since 2014.

He said after the game:

“They were better in certain areas but not others. We had our chances and I’m disappointed. The penalty was soft. It just felt a little bit hard for us today at times.”

Cardiff will be determined to prove they deserve their place in England’s top flight this weekend, and overturn their poor record against visitors Newcastle (lost 10 of their last 11).

With the potential return of striker Kenneth Zohore to their starting lineup, Warnock will be hoping they can add more strength to their attacking play and get their home record off to a good start.

Cardiff are well organised at the back but if they don’t take their opportunities in the first half then they may be in for another disappointing result.

Newcastle struggled to impose themselves on Tottenham last weekend, and were unlucky not to take advantage as Pochettino’s side tired in the latter stages of Saturday’s game, hitting the woodwork on two occasions.

The news of owner Michael Ashley’s £90 million acquisition of House of Fraser will no doubt see an increasingly frustrated toon army descend on Cardiff on Saturday.  After St James’ Park saw fans protesting in relation to Ashley’s lack of investment in their squad, Rafa Benitez will be under pressure to reassure fans that he can work with the players they did bring in.

What time does Cardiff City vs. Newcastle United kick off?

Who is favourite to win?

It’s a close one to call by all accounts, but most of the bookies this week have Newcastle down as narrow favourites, with Bwin giving odds of 29/20, returning you just nearly one and a half times your stake.

Best Free Bet Scout prediction

With the lack of firepower at Cardiff, Best Free Bet Scout also believes Newcastle will just have the edge on this one, so is backing the Magpies to get a narrow victory.

Newcastle to win 1-0: Bwin 25/4

Newcastle main man: Salomon Rondon

Newcastle’s new loanee from West Brom has the strength and agility to make the difference when he makes his first start for the Magpies on Saturday.  He’s ability to hold up the ball and strength in the air will provide Newcastle’s attacking wide players the opportunity to get beyond the full backs and create chances for the target man.

The Venezuelan is likely to be looking to working with Rafa Benitez who’s style of play will suit their new number 9, so Best Free Bet Scout is expecting him to get on the score sheet this weekend.

Rondon to score first: William Hill 4/1

Predicted line-ups

Cardiff City: Etheridge, Peltier, Morrison, Ecuele Manga, Bennett, Arter, Murphy, Paterson, Ralls, Reid, Zohore.

Newcastle Utd: Dubravka, Yedlin, Lascelles, Clark, Dummett, Shelvey, Diame, Ritchie, Kenedy, Perez, Rondon.
