Premier League gameweek 6: predictions and accumulator betting tips

This week, Best Free Bet Scout assesses your best options for an accumulator bet with our accumulator betting tips on the Premier League, alongside score predictions for gameweek 6.

After a disappointing first round in the Champions league group stage, and the beating they took last weekend, Tottenham will be looking to get back to winning ways as they travel to Brighton for the late televised match on Saturday.

The pressure is starting to show at Spurs, after losing what was looking like a comfortable league at the San Siro on Wednesday, Pochettino lost his temper with some reporters during his post-match press conference.  He took offence to being questioned about leaving Kieran Trippier and Toby Alderweireld behind when Spurs travelled to Milan.

Against Watford and against Liverpool, they were on the pitch,” he said.

“Wow, what a question, such an easy question? [It’s] easy to talk about the players that aren’t here. I think we need to talk about football. Because, you know I think you force me to say something that is not good.

“You disrespect the players that showed better qualities than the opponent.

It remains to be seen if the wheels really are falling off at Tottenham.  Is the curse of the new already starting to take effect?

Brighton v Tottenham Hotspur

Kick-off: 5:30pm (BST) Saturday 22 September 2018
Where to watch live on TV the UK: BT Sport 1 / BT Sport 4K UHD

Venue: Amex Stadium

Referee: Chris Kavanagh

Spurs didn’t look like they could get anything against Liverpool last weekend.  They never got a hold on the game, and could have lost by a lot more.

A trip to Brighton is probably the last thing they need.  It’ll be a tough test, and Brighton have shown in their last two games that they have a new-found dogged determination to fight when going behind, coming back twice from 2-0 down to get the draw.

This could be a good fixture for the draw in your accumulator this week.

Cardiff City v Man City

Kick-off: 3:00pm (BST) Saturday 22 September 2018

Venue: City Stadium

City have shown their vulnerability on a couple of occasions already this season, the most recent being in their default at Lyon during the week.

Many champions have proven how tough it is to continue sustained performances after winning the Premier League in a convincing fashion.  It’s a tough mental hurdle to always put in 100% after having so much success.

Man City took their eye off the ball against Lyon on Wednesday night, so Guardiola will no doubt have been working hard in training these last few days to ensure his team are refocused and ready to face Cardiff.

Cardiff have shown great resilience so far this season, and they have also shown they’re not afraid to take on the big boys, especially when they were up against a strong Arsenal attack recently.  However, City are a different kettle of fish, so if they try to outplay them then they will no doubt suffer severely.

Prediction: 1-4 (Get 14/1 odds on this result with Bwin)

Leicester v Huddersfield

Kick-off: 3:00pm (BST) Saturday 22 September 2018

Venue: King Power Stadium

Leicester have shown weakness at the back so far these season, however Huddersfield are so far the Premier League’s lowest goal scorers.

It’s unlikely they’ll have enough possession to create chances at Leicester so we should expect to see a controlling and expected home win.

Prediction: 2-0 (Get 11/2 odds on this result with Betway)

Liverpool v Southampton

Kick-off: 3:00pm (BST) Saturday 22 September 2018

Venue: Anfield

Klopp has got his side ticking again this season.  They’ve shown no sign of letting up with a 100% record so far, scoring 11 goals in 5 games.

At home, Liverpool are a dominant force.  The positive performance and goal from Daniel Sturridge in midweek will have please Klopp and he’ll hope to continue his run of fitness and goalscoring this weekend.  Expect to see plenty of chances created on Saturday.

Southampton’s new man up top and former Liverpool reject, Danny Ings, will be to prove a point to Klopp and show him he was wrong not to give him more playing time at Anfield.  Ings make get his chance, but it’s unlikely he’ll have enough to carry his team to steal any points on Saturday.

Prediction: 3-1 (Get 19/2 odds on this result with Bwin)

Man United v Wolverhampton Wanderers

Kick-off: 3:00pm (BST) Monday 22 September 2018

Venue: Old Trafford

After looking like the wheels were once again going to fall off for Jose Mourinho, when they lost 3-0 at home to Spurs, they have gone on to win their last 3 matches.

Mourinho seems to have a show of faith from both the fans and the players, who have started to gel and play attractive football.

United’s current run of form and the momentum they’ve generated should see them with enough to win at home to a Wolves who have shipped as many goals as they’ve scored.

Prediction: 1-0 (Get 6/1 odds on this result with Sportingbet)
