BRIGHTON to beat Newcastle (away win)
Despite their impressive start at Old Trafford, Newcastle still look shot of confidence. The manner of United’s comeback will only reinforce the players’ lack of belief that they can compete against the top sides.
Brighton ground out a strong performance and took an impressive 3 points against an in-form West Ham last time out. However, their away form is poor having not won away since last November.
All the pressure will be on Benitez and his men though in front of an expectant home crowd still awaiting their first win at St James’ Park.
It’s a close one to call, but we think Brighton will be under no pressure so are more likely to come out on top in this one.
FULHAM to beat Cardiff (away win)
Both newly promoted sides have struggled to get a grip on the Premier League so far this season. With only one win between them in their first eight games, both sides will be more than aware of the importance of this game.
Neil Warnock’s side are yet to register a win this season, and have only picked up one point in their first four home games.
Visitors Fulham have the same record on their travels. The difference between these two struggling sides though, is the way they’ve approached their games.
Cardiff have not made any attempt to take the game to their opposition, and have sat back and tried to defend their way to a result. They look to be lacking confidence, and Warnock seems to know his players’ limits, and has no faith that his side can compete against the big teams.
Fulham, in stark contrast, have approached games with an attacking philosophy, and their manager Slavisa Jokanovic clearly has a vision for how he wants his team to play, and Fulham look to be content to continue that approach despite poor recent results.
We expect this game to be Fulham’s chance to showcase how much a better side they are than Cardiff.
MAN CITY to beat Burnley (home win)
Nobody expects anything but a convincing home win as The Clarets visit the league leaders this weekend.
Even though Burnley are in fine form, having picked up seven points from their last three games, it’s unlikely they’ll have the quality required to put City under pressure.
Man City welcome back key man Kevin De Bruyne this weekend, who will only strengthen a side with world-class talent throughout its squad.
ARSENAL to beat Leicester (home win)
Unai Emery has laid out his philosophy to his players and trained them hard from day one. Despite an unsettled start to the season, he’s stuck to his guns with the same players and same mentality; to play out from the back and press high when out of possession.
Unlike Wenger’s Gunners, the Arsenal of this season have found the ability to grind out results despite inconsistent performances. Last time out however shown signs of progress.
In the second half at Craven Cottage, Emery’s players looked more like the Arsenal of old when Wenger first took over. They played at speed and created chance after chance.
Despite this convincing win Emery still expects more from his players. Those who didn’t go on international duty last week, will have continued to train hard and we expect them to add to their impressive run of nine wins on the bounce in all competitions.
